WHAT IS IMMERSIVE ARCADE?
Immersive Arcade provides access to the most influential British immersive productions from the last twenty years. Walkthrough the interactive timeline of some of the United Kingdom’s most genre-defying experiential accomplishments, and jump into the exclusive VR showcase to see how we have soared since the start of the 21st century. The project has been commissioned by UKRI, as part of the ‘Audience of the Future’ challenge.
WHAT IS MEANT BY ‘IMMERSIVE’?
We have defined ‘immersive’ experiences as those where the audience has some degree of agency or autonomy, and where they feel ’embodied’ in a recreated environment, be it real or fictional, digital or physical, or both.
HOW HAVE WE CHOSEN WHICH PROJECTS TO FEATURE IN THE IMMERSIVE ARCADE TIMELINE?
A panel of leading Immersive producers, researchers and executives has approved nominations from the general public which they regard as the most outstanding and influential. All productions must be predominantly British and have been completed in the last twenty years.
The panel is: Nick Rooke, Matt Sansam, Aki Jarvinen, Mária Rakušanová & Becky Gregory-Clarke.
