Thresholds

Mat Collishaw, Pete James; Paul Tennent (Nottingham University’s Mixed Reality Laboratory), Larry Schaaf, David Blisset, VMI studios, and The Whitewall Company.

Thresholds is a fully immersive portal to the past that re-stages the world’s first major exhibition of photography.

Visitors travel back in time, when British scientist William Henry Fox Talbot first presented his photographic prints to the public at King Edward’s School in Birmingham.

Each visitor to Thresholds is equipped with a backpack pc and a head-mounted display attached that enables them to explore a room-size VR recreation of the Model Room with up to five other visitors.
